Teacher

You teach me the meaning of love

I imagine you by my side

When I walk here and there

Your image dances in my mind

And when I close

My eyes at night

Sorrows are pierced

By the lance of

Light.

Ode To WineGums

Let me count the ways

I love thee

Or rather just say

From the tips of my toes

To the ends of my hair.

I love thee

More than all the

Other pretenders

Put together,

So there.

Yes, you are the Queen

Of sweets, let it be said

For as long as I live,

With thee

I do wed!

Winegums, you ask?

It’s anytime, any day for me

No need to be shy

Or curb this hungry desire,

Winegums are mighty fine

I feast upon their shine.

Red, yellow, black

Green, orange, white;

A multi-coloured paradise

Gourmet’s delight.

Palette of wonders

Delectable nectar,

I gorge on such

Nutritious delights!

How best to savour?

Like a vintage wine

Over the course

Of a few hours?

Or wolfed down

With rampant glee

In a matter of minutes?

Either will do

Though I do confess

The latter approach

Fits me best.

I am weak-kneed

In the face of

Such sweetness!

And the shapes

Always amaze:

Kidney, Crown

Diamond, Circle

Rectangle,

Oh resplendent

Shapely pleasures!

Family of divinities

That roll away

Tired frowns.

Ogling your names

Connoisseur’s heaven:

Port, Sherry

Champagne

Medicine for aches

And pains.

Burgundy, Claret

Gin

Oh delicious sin!

Winegums, you ask?

It’s anytime, any day for me

Temptations

Whose brightness

Remains undimmed

Winegums…

How divine!

Sea Music

Sea music enchants the mind
Where the body can unwind,
Lifted free from tawdry chores
In tune with passion that pours.

Hand in hand drinking the spell
Lit by stars that slay the knell;
Terror’s shadow thwarted by
Waves crashing from upon high.

What has been cannot dismay,
While we taste joy and survey
The mysteries of love’s pulse
Beating fast to bridge the gulf.

Impressions

To walk on a mountain

Is poetry, not straitened by

Man’s vanity

To feel the fresh breeze

Blow is heaven, not frozen by

Terror’s chains

To taste the raindrops

Cleansing the tongue is lush

A lover’s embrace

To see wild grandeur

Stunning the mind in wonder

Nature’s film flows

To laugh with the sun

Raised on hope’s vast balloon

While earth’s songs trill

To dance on this land

Becalmed by beauty

Your love, my spur.

Come Let’s Kiss

There is beauty in a view

There is beauty do not miss

There is beauty to be caught

There is beauty, come let’s kiss.

There is beauty in your smile

There is beauty that is bliss

There is beauty everywhere

There is beauty, come let’s kiss.

There is beauty when we see

There is beauty just like this

There is beauty, swells the heart

There is beauty, come let’s kiss.

There is beauty by the sea

There is beauty while fools hiss

There is beauty when we dance

There is beauty, come let’s kiss.
