Wild Swimming

Surrounded by green,

The sudden sharp surprise

Of the river’s

Silky flow,

A sacred purge

While the skin

Tingles

And thoughts burst.

Fluent flowering;

Streaming bountiful

Riches

That man

In his vacant lust

Quells with

Dead-eyed

Festering

Rage.

Mingling with

Nature’s cathedral

Is to feel

That unity

Is not forged

On the saw

Of blind hatred,

But found

In a wood

Where the birds

Sing

In the dappled light

And life is good.
