Unveiled

Show me your sorrow
And I will tell
You my fears.
For what is more real
Than beauty in tears?

Show me your joy
And I will tell
You my needs.
For what is more pure
Where tenderness bleeds?

Over

The messages we wrote
from distant lands no longer
blaze with gifts they held;
Rather they denote
how easily words conceal
desire from intention,
drifting into unanchored space.

Silence is the moat
guarding unaligned eyes.
Over this foolish pageant,
ravens ride the current
circling a new freedom.

Acknowledgement

Silence is always beautiful
As is the sudden, sharp tang of beer,
A mouth-watering view,
And you
             Floating free
Over the mountain-tops,
Translucent in blue.
