Fullness

Drinking deep
Succulence untethered –
Renewed plenitude

We Only Have The One Life #2

We only have the one life,
Why the fever and the fret?
When our duty is to love
And kiss before sorrows set.

We only have the one life
To touch and explore and dream;
Body revealed, mind-lamps lit,
Tanned in the unceasing gleam.

We only have the one life
To get naked in the sun,
Shorn of gaudy dress,
Hardened shells undone.

We only have the one life
To breathe and think and fuck;
Goodness within our grasp,
Riches won, wonderstruck.

We only have the one life,
So no need to drown and frown;
Joy is there to be savoured,
If wanting looks up not down.

Even Though

Even though
              I haven’t
Seen you
              For what feels
Like an age
              All my thoughts
They fly
               Like dancing stars
In a burning rage.

Even though
                Distance cleaves
In fiendish fright
                I often dream
Of simply being
                The two of us
Walking earthstruck
                Threaded by
Sunlight.

Even though
                 Years have passed
Swallowed in reverie
                  A vision hums
Wedded to brightness
                  Blessed
                                Blessed
                                            Blessed
Drunk in lovers’ light.
