Silence

There is a silence that hurts
There is emptiness that bleeds
There is hollowness that cries
There is a despair that feeds.

There is a silence that kills
There is acceptance that numbs
There is quietude that roars
There is a stillness that hums.

There is a silence that lifts
There is clarity that falls
There is wonderment that spurs
There is a yearning that calls.

Arrival

You come to me in dreams,
Holding a blade of light;
You come to me in life,
Casting out the fright.

You come to me in style,
A smile that sweetly greets;
You come to me in hope,
Gilding the fleeting beats.

You come to me in peace,
A sea of watchful grace;
You come to me in joy,
This heart an open space.

That Day

That day we talked and laughed
and felt as humans do, the magic alive, a glorious afternoon on a street
filled with gladness where voices wed
in unison and the gods dealt liberally with brightness and brio, memories sprung in the August sun, spun afresh on the altar of affection. My words tumbling like confetti onto your beckoning palms. Sliding into night,
aromas danced in a wholesome blend and I knelt in awe at your poise and unchained elegance. Promises linger
in the meeting of tongues, the sky ablaze with whispering fragments, wounds rendered whole, the welcoming arms, a holy melt.
