Greeting

Come my sweet and cherish this beat,
Harmony’s a place where we’ll greet.
Come my flower and seek the calm,
Affection’s pulse flows palm to palm.
Come my dove, listen to the sea,
Ardent waves steeped in liberty.
Come my pearl, cradle the splendour,
This world, this heart, always tender.
Come my beacon, lighten the way,
Memories are made night and day.
Come my love and bury the past,
Bright horizons shall bloom and last.
Come my rose, from earth we unfold,
Mingled solitudes, life behold.

Gaze

Hours and hours
I gaze
Upon the
Wide oceanic blue.
But how
I would rather
Be feasting
On the kernel
Of you.

Presence

With you by my side,
All of time recedes;
Like an ebbing sea
Sucked free of history.

With you, the road is clear –
Rivers glisten in the sun,
Peaks offer glimpses of joy,
Living is the pulsing ploy.

With you, zesty spirit,
Flowers tingle with freshness;
Touch springs in the air,
From here to everywhere.

Lily of the Valley

I bought you some flowers
Once,  to welcome in the Spring
A March celebration
Fresh love singing
Across continents.

How soon their glory
Faded, stripped and shorn
Of wild imaginings.
Words soon soured
Mingled with grief and sorrow.

Lying between your thighs
The sun failed to rise
On our poisoned lives
Yet the sweetness we shared

Remains clear as a stream
Burnished in the stunted
Rays of the winter sun.

This desire suppressed
By a terse affair
Steeped in joyless pain.

The lily shall rise
Again,  pulsing
With a bright promise
Richer and rarer.

Unmixed with confusion –
A glorious scent
Lasting through the seasons.
