Dreaming

Am I dreaming
      Of abundance
Immersed in
      The grace of you?

Am I seeing
      The path made flesh
A future
       Filled with allure?

Am I alert
       To joy and sorrow
The heart’s cup
        Renewed in wonder?

Am I certain
        About my words
Spun from crumbs
        Tinged with desire?

Am I attuned
         To every thrill
Surging deep
         The roar for more?

Am I waking
         To vibrant love
Perennial cheer
         From year to year?

Am I aware
          Am I aglow
                    Am I alive?

Boulevard

Walking along the sea
Immersed in mist,
Grasping at beauty
One thought dominates my being –
You.
You in all your glory.
You in all your earthly radiance .
You in all your blazing modesty.
Without you,  I am empty.
A shell blowing in the breeze.
Wherever I step, you blaze,
A burning presence
Rising from the ground –
A light of vitality,
A beacon of beauty,
A touch of Spring
Forged in elemental flames.

Snapshot

We haven’t seen one another
For an age, swept along
By life’s ceaseless currents.

But like the eternal sun
Your presence blazes,
And I stay grateful

For having held your hand
Once upon a time.

Sympathy

I look outside
And watch people
In the thick of life,
Feeding ravenous birds,
Alive in the moment.

Happiness spreads
Like a welcome pool.
In it I plunge,
Hungry for you.
