Rhossili Down

A morning draped in mist.
Waves hugging the seashore.
Weariness unclenching its fist.
Crows surfing the biting breeze.
Rocks rising in sudden sharpness.
I thought how sweet it is to live.
Voices steeped in buoyant laughter.
Man’s folly is easy to forgive.
Gullsong burning the clammy air.
The sun waits, eager to share.

Haiku

Kindness is your spell
Tears washed in reverence –
Light unpins the heart.

Gaze

Hours and hours
I gaze
Upon the
Wide oceanic blue.
But how
I would rather
Be feasting
On the kernel
Of you.

Walking together

New horizons beckon –

Presence

With you by my side,
All of time recedes;
Like an ebbing sea
Sucked free of history.

With you, the road is clear –
Rivers glisten in the sun,
Peaks offer glimpses of joy,
Living is the pulsing ploy.

With you, zesty spirit,
Flowers tingle with freshness;
Touch springs in the air,
From here to everywhere.

Christmas Day

This Christmas Day –
Joy it is to be alive
World of innocence
I drink in
Your blazing beauty.

This Christmas Day –
Gifts unwrapped
Earth breathing purity
I touch your grace
With grateful awe.

This Christmas Day –
Full-throated cries
Leap from ridge to bridge
I hear your music
Choir of contentment.

This Christmas Day –
A feast to treasure
The sacred bonds
Heightened
In word and in song.

This Christmas Day –
Immersed in
Rich moments
Let the soul float
Light as a feather.

This Christmas Day –
Embrace true mirth
Communion
Of light
Laughter’s sweet balm.

This Christmas Day –
Giving and getting
What the heart
Loves
Cherish and keep.

Urge

I wake in a shower
Of light, crying.
You are no longer here.

What shall I do
With these tears?
How can I placate
This ache?

My heart is drenched.
I need to swim.
I need to flow.
I need to bathe

My hopes
In a tide of longing.
