If I Could

If I could reach the stars,
Grab a fistful
And give them to you,
I would.

If I could guide the sun
And make it shine
Upon you,
I would.

If I could charm the trees
And tell them to dance
As you walk pass,
I would.

If I could cajole the moon
To send you deep kisses
Steeped in red wine,
I would.

If I could entice the sea
To spell waves
In your name,
I would.

If I could be your duvet
And keep you
Warm at night,
I would.

If I could whisper these words
And make them
Sail across the sky,
I would.

If I could do all these things,
My heart would sing
And that would be grand,
It would.

Like A Rock

Like a rock is this love,
Washed daily
By a sea of desire,
Our dreams mingled
In a riotous foam.

I gaze without shame
At your naked form,
Rising clear
Onto the sandy shore.

And I pinch myself
Grateful that you came,
A diving spirit,
Glistening and golden,
Giving with grace
Modesty untamed.

There is…

There is no one but you
To keep me whole and new;
Brighter than the sun,
Old sorrows on the run.

There is no one but you
To paint the canvas blue,
Freshening the day,
Where love comes to play.

There is no one but you
To kiss this journey true,
Dancing through the night,
The ways you do excite.

Whisperings

I listen to your voice
All night long,
Happily making notes
After every song.
By the time dawn arrives
In golden-tongued light,
Melodies blaze naked,
A holy kind of might.

Comfort

In the hot sweat of life and living
we float and fuck,
like ravenous creatures
exploding on the edge;
A dance swaying in tune,
desire harmonised
under the knowing moon.

Hungry for you, I offer my tongue,
ensorcelled by scents;
Hands clasped in comfort
as the world rides collapsing
waves, watery tower
mingled deep with your
resplendent power.

Coupling

Let us dance
You and I,
while the moon
floats
above the sea.

Let us kiss
You and I,
while the trees
hug
the holy breeze.

Let us sing
You and I,
while the wind
strokes
our naked minds.

Let us talk
You and I,
while the night
breathes
its tender spell.

Let us love
You and I,
while the sun
lights
this zealous fire.

Let us spell
You and I,
while the sand
flows
through hot hands.

Valentine

I give you wonder
You give me your love
We sing from above
Of passion to plunder.

I give you laughter
You give me a sign
We feast on love’s wine
Drunkenness comes after.

I give you my word
You give me your seal
We flame as we feel
Cries no longer unheard.

I give you the earth
You give me fresh rain
We wash away pain
On the bed of rebirth.
