We Never

We never did do this –
Kiss in the rain,
Laugh unshackled
Of shadows
And so much else.
All flimsy illusions
Tossed in stormy torpor.

“No way out”, you said.
Bloodied in despair,
My head bowed, undead.

The door is always open,
Ready for real loving.

Scraps

Even in those moments
That drift aimlessly,
Tattered scraps
Snagged by the wind,
A halo shimmers
In the eye’s corner,
Flooding the shadows
Without a care.

Love is stubborn,
Finds a way of coming,
And this is grace
Given wings that sing,
Mending time’s  tapestry;
If only to taste
Before all goes to waste.

Beckoning

Out of the chaos
you hover,
beckoning with
a lifting smile.

Out of the fury
you flutter,
melting sorrow
in lips of light.

Cri de Coeur

Love, hold me tight
Love, help me flee
Love, keep me bright
Love, set me free.

Love, kiss me true
Love, stand me tall
Love, bear me through
Love, hear my call.

Love, teach me grace
Love, spare me pain
Love, give me space
Love, fall like rain.

Love, warm my mind
Love, touch me soft
Love, thou art kind
Love, dance aloft.
