Last Night

Last night
            I spoke to the moon
Declared my love
             She said
“Come back
            Tomorrow afternoon.”

Today
            I went to the moon
And sang of
            What I had
Told before.

She said,
             With a wide
And gracious smile
            “Tell her
                      Evermore.”

Enchanted

Rapt in wonder,
I hang
         Upon
Your every word.

Starlit,
         Blessed,
Modest charms
                     Ablaze.

Limpid syllables
You utter,
An ardent voice
In whose
             Whetted
Tenderness

I humbly succumb.

Mysteries

Some say there should be
No mysteries for two people
To love each other.

                    But isn’t there
Something luminous about
Spending a lifetime unveiling
These precious gems?

Like wayfarers charting
New paths,  the dazzle
Is in the touching.

Revel

When I see you again
let us not exchange words
but melt in a river of kisses
and revel like happy dogs.

Fortune

Can you hear
             The beauty
Silently
            Unfolding itself
Gracious
            And godlike?

How lucky
              We are
To be alive
             Steeped in
Nature’s
              Rich vintage
Loving like
              Animals untamed
Ecstasy
              Unvarnished.

How lucky
              We are
To be a part
              Living
                    Thinking spirits
In the wide
              Unshackled skies
And give rein
             To our heart’s desire.

How lucky
             To utter a prayer
Clasped
              In harmony
Where rivers
              Run deep.

How lucky
             To give and get
How lucky
             You and I met.

Gravity

I
  fall
       into
             your
                     laughter
over
       and
              over

A lake of rippling calm.

Years Have Passed

On the highway of life,
Years have passed.

Our bodies don’t lie,
Tangled in pleasure.

A hunger enthused,
What can you see?

The terror of the ache,
Sighs itching to break.
