Even Though

Even though
              I haven’t
Seen you
              For what feels
Like an age
              All my thoughts
They fly
               Like dancing stars
In a burning rage.

Even though
                Distance cleaves
In fiendish fright
                I often dream
Of simply being
                The two of us
Walking earthstruck
                Threaded by
Sunlight.

Even though
                 Years have passed
Swallowed in reverie
                  A vision hums
Wedded to brightness
                  Blessed
                                Blessed
                                            Blessed
Drunk in lovers’ light.

Mysteries

Some say there should be
No mysteries for two people
To love each other.

                    But isn’t there
Something luminous about
Spending a lifetime unveiling
These precious gems?

Like wayfarers charting
New paths,  the dazzle
Is in the touching.

Precious

Time is so precious. Waste
It at your peril. Moments

Vanish in the blink of an eye.
Fly with the wind, love’s wings

Ring and ring. While we make
Sweet music, fragrance swells.

Bound by joyous fidelity,
Happy mingling incarnate.

Years Have Passed

On the highway of life,
Years have passed.

Our bodies don’t lie,
Tangled in pleasure.

A hunger enthused,
What can you see?

The terror of the ache,
Sighs itching to break.

Time

There’s always time.
Time for togetherness.
Time for affection.
Time for living.
Time for exploration.
Time for sharing.
Time for happiness.
Time for being.
Time for wondering.
Time for loving.
Time for leaping.
Time for giving.
Time for receiving.
All this, and more,
Before the sun sets.

Presence

With you by my side,
All of time recedes;
Like an ebbing sea
Sucked free of history.

With you, the road is clear –
Rivers glisten in the sun,
Peaks offer glimpses of joy,
Living is the pulsing ploy.

With you, zesty spirit,
Flowers tingle with freshness;
Touch springs in the air,
From here to everywhere.

Undone

Our lives passed

Ever so briefly,

Two ships

Sailing in the night,

Where the hours

Felt like minutes,

The weeks like days.
Now as the sun wanes

At summer’s end,

Seasons fold

Into each other,

The cycle

Sings anew.

Gather while you can.
What remains

Of this love?

A handful of ashes

A cup of tears

Ready to be sowed,

For hope to rise

Again.
