Won’t You?

Won’t you hold my
hand a little while
in this sea of plenty?

Won’t you stroke my
heart with gentleness
and watch the flowers bloom?

Won’t you walk with
me without chains or ropes
and kiss the world awake?

Won’t you cradle my
head and glimpse the sun
woo the morning dew?

Won’t you feast on liberty
and let your senses
swell in gaiety?

Won’t you lose yourself
in the wholesome flow,
bathed in wonderment?

Won’t you be a star
near and afar
on this burnished path?

Won’t you?

L’Amour

Love is the only thing one should live for.
Love is the only thing one should consider.
Love is the herb that soothes ancient sorrows.
Love is a wave that carries us to new worlds.
Love is warmth for the jaded soul.
Love is a hat to be worn in all seasons.
Love is light illuminating the darkness.
Love is fire, linking heart to heart.
Love is an ocean in which happiness swims.
Love is the sun, the moon, the wind, the stars.
Love is time dissolved in laughter.
Love is touch healing old scars.
Love is a smile greeting a smile.
Love is a charm, the way to stay calm.
Love is fragrant, freshened by passion.
Love is care, bathed in devotion.
Love travels far across seas and lands.

If I Could #2

If I could leap miles and miles
    Whisper sweet nothings
In your ear
           I would.

If I could pluck stars
     From the sky, scatter
Then upon your bed
            I would.

If I could stitch these
      Words in a luminous
Shawl, untorn
            I would.

If I could barrel
       My kisses
Roll them to you
            I would.

If I could persuade
        The flamingoes
To dance unabashed
             I would.

If I could discard
         These longings
On the altar of touch
             I would.

If I could stand
          Proud and unbowed
The earth would thrill
             Afresh, it would.

If I could cherish thee
           As Spring
Serenades the trees
              I would.

If I could spell a charm
           That carried
You there to here
               I would.

If I could tell you
            The ways
You flit and flare
               I would.

If I could take your hand
            And float in a bubble
Of love, life would be grand
                It would.

In The Light Of Your Smile

In the light of your smile
I cross the divide

In the scent of your grace
I walk in bliss

In the glow of your flow
I conquer desire

In the beat of your heart
I float in devotion

In the brush of your lips
I travel through pain

In the snug of your touch
I discard the crutch

In the soul of your mind
I dive, dive, dive.

We Only Have The One Life #2

We only have the one life,
Why the fever and the fret?
When our duty is to love
And kiss before sorrows set.

We only have the one life
To touch and explore and dream;
Body revealed, mind-lamps lit,
Tanned in the unceasing gleam.

We only have the one life
To get naked in the sun,
Shorn of gaudy dress,
Hardened shells undone.

We only have the one life
To breathe and think and fuck;
Goodness within our grasp,
Riches won, wonderstruck.

We only have the one life,
So no need to drown and frown;
Joy is there to be savoured,
If wanting looks up not down.

Mysteries

Some say there should be
No mysteries for two people
To love each other.

                    But isn’t there
Something luminous about
Spending a lifetime unveiling
These precious gems?

Like wayfarers charting
New paths,  the dazzle
Is in the touching.

Time

There’s always time.
Time for togetherness.
Time for affection.
Time for living.
Time for exploration.
Time for sharing.
Time for happiness.
Time for being.
Time for wondering.
Time for loving.
Time for leaping.
Time for giving.
Time for receiving.
All this, and more,
Before the sun sets.
